Statement of Faith

1. We believe the Scriptures of the Old and the New Testament to be the verbally and planarity inspired Word of God, the final authority of faith, life and the church establishment inerrant in the original writings and faithfully preserved. The Authorized King James Version is a faithful and pure translation, and as such is to be used in the classrooms and pulpit of Lighthouse Baptist Church when the English language is used. Tim 3:16; II Pet. 1:20, 21; Psa. 12:6, 7; Psa. 100:15

2. We believe the Father is the one and only, true and living God; an infinite and intelligent spirit. Ex 20:23; John 4:24

3. We believe that the Lord Jesus is the Son of God and God the Son. We believe in his pre-incarnate deity (II Cor. 5:21), bodily resurrection (Acts 1:3), ascension (Acts 1:9-11), priesthood (Heb. 2:17), imminent pre-tribulation, pre millennial coming of Christ for his saints (I Thess. 1:10; 4:13-18), coming again with his saints to set up his kingdom on earth (Rev. 19).

4. We believe that God the Holy Spirit is a divine person equal with the Father and Son (Matt. 28:19). He restrains the evil one in this world (II Thes. 2:9). He convicts of sin, righteousness and judgment (John 16:8-11). He comforts (John l4:16, 17); He witnesses (Rom. 8:16); He sanctifies (I Pet. 1:2)

5. We believe in the blood atonement of Jesus Christ for sin. (1 John 1:7; Heb. 10:12)

6. We believe in the existence of Satan who was once a sinless being but he fell through pride. (Isa. 14:12-14).

7. We believe in the Genesis account of the direct creation of the universe and man by God and not the process of evolution. (Gen. 1:1; Ex. 20:1).

8. We believe in the voluntary fall of man resulting in total depravity and guilt of the race of Adam. (Gen. 3)

9. We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. (Eph. 2:8, 9; John 3:16)

10. We believe in the eternal salvation and assurance of believers. Once we are saved. We are kept by Gods power and are secure in Christ forever. (John 6:37-40; 10:27-30)

11. We believe in the eternal bliss in Heaven for all who are saved through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

12. We believe in a literal hell and eternal damnation of the lost. (Rev. 20:11-15)

13. We believe in the unity of all true believers-the Body of Christ. (I Cor. 12:12-14; II Cor. 11:2; Eph 1:22, 23 & 5:25-27)

14. We believe in the separation of church and state and that he local church is an assembly of baptized believers gathered together for the purpose of carrying out the great commission. (Matt. 28:19, 20; Mark 16:15).

15. We believe that the only two ordinances of the local church are baptism and the Lords Supper:

BAPTISM: Scriptural Baptism is immersion in water of a believer, in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, with the authority of the local church, to show forth in a solemn and beautiful emblem of our faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Saviour, with its effect in our death to sin and resurrection to a new life. (Matt 28:19; Rom. 6:45).

THE LORDS SUPPER: The Lords Supper commemorates our Lords death. The bread (unleavened) and the fruit of the vine (grape juice) pictures His death until He comes, the receiving of such is always preceded by self examination (I Cor. 11:23-28). The Lords Supper is only for baptized believers of the Local Church (8:27-38).

WE DO NOT BELIEVE OR ACCEPT ANY FORM OF THE ECUMENICAL OR CHARISMATIC MOVEMENTS OF THIS DAY.

This statement of faith is not to be changed as these are fundamental doctrines of the Word of God.
